Poppies and Daisies

 

Romajo has updated her exclusive freebie on her facebook page.  It is a kit called Poppies & Daisies.   If you head over there and sign up for her newsletter (HERE) you can also get this coordinating alpha for free!  But hurry it will be sent out either late tonight, or early tomorrow.

As soon as I saw the colours I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap.  It is a picture of a vase of flowers that we cut from my Grandmothers garden on the day of her funeral.  She has a gorgeous garden (both food and flowers) and it seemed fitting that her own flowers be there as well.  Beside it is a poem that I read during the service.

Woman Warrior

 

I Slept!  I am so happy.  I am still tired, but at least my 14 days of not sleeping has ended.  It is amazing the difference a little sleep can do.  Now on to the new release.

Mommy Me Time Scrapper and Growing Pains Scrapped have used Princess Mulan as their inspiration for Woman Warrior.  (The eighth in their Princess Inspired Series)   It is filled with so much goodness, and can be used for layouts other than Mulan or China related as well. 

I chose to use a picture of Kailey in her ‘attitude’ shirt.  I also created a Brag Book Page for you.  It is 5x7 and can be reduced in size if needed.  Just click the preview below to start the download.

$2 Tuesday–May 28, 2013

 

So it turns out that there is not much more the Dr. can do to help me sleep.  3 hours of sleep in 12 days is becoming unbearable.  I have tried all of the common suggestions, dark room, no tv/computer/phone within 2 hrs of bedtime, be active, but not near bedtime, relaxation tapes even went so far as to try some tea that was suggested.  (I HATE tea! But I am willing to try anything at this point.) So I am looking for more suggestions.  What do you do if you can’t sleep?

Campfire and S’More Campfire Fun

 

Kimberly of Leaving a Legacy Designs has an amazing kit releasing today.  Campfire is all about just that.  Being out in the woods camping.  Whether in a tent or trailer, or just laying out under the stars.  Growing up, camping was very much a part of my life.  Aside from all of the work involved in packing and unpacking, it is so relaxing, and calming.  (Yes even with kids screaming and dogs barking)  Here is the Campfire Kit, as well as the Campfire Word Art:

Since our long weekend was last week, life is continuing as normal here.  So happy I have a Dr’s appointment as I am just about to break down after not sleeping for 5 days.  (possible 6 since I am typing this up last night!)

P12 - May

 

Can you believe we are coming up to May?  I haven’t slept in 4 days, and at night the time just seems to stand still.  During the day though it seems to make up for it.  It has been an average May here in Ontario with the exception of some 32 degrees Celsius (about 90 F) for 3 days.  (The next day it was 0 C – 32 F in the morning.)  I am happy for the cooler nights again.

As soon as I seen the monkey on skates I knew exactly the picture I wanted to use.  Except I forgot that it wasn’t a great photo.  It was however enough for me to remember roller skating and loving taking them to my Grandmothers house.  I also created this months cluster and you can download it by clicking on the preview below.

This Scrapper’s Got Talent Contest–Do YOU have what it takes?

 

One of the summer traditions at STS is the This Scrapper's Got Talent contest. This will be the fourth year for the contest and the planning has already started.  (The flyer below is linked to where you need to sign up over in the STS forum)

 

(The information on the flyer – not exactly as written – is The contest will run for five weeks (June 16 to July 20) with the top three finalists being announced on July 23. Those who make it to the final round of the contest will be offered spots on the store CT and the top three finalists will win store gift certificates (up to $50). The deadline to sign up for the contest is Saturday, June 15. )

What a long weekend.  Amazing temperatures, huge storms, and fun watching the fireworks.  (And definitely fun seeing how long they continued setting of the fireworks – around my house -- after the wind, rain and lightning appeared!)  I hate to say it, but I am definitely feeling the heat.  (And will NOT put the AC on in May!)  Okay it was 32 deg. C, but I am not ready for that yet.  I need to work my way up!

I also want to send my prayers to everyone affected by the tornados, and storms.  I feel gifted to know that my family is safe, and am saddened that others cannot say the same thing.

Are We There Yet?

 

A friend of mine left very early this morning (1am) on a trip to New York City.  I couldn’t help but laugh as I worked with this kit.  I can just imagine her girls, (one who HATES long car rides) saying this over and over and over again.
