Grouchy and Flip Flap Flutter

Do you know someone that doesn't like to get up in the morning?  Or after a nap?  Kimberly of Leaving a Legacy Designs has put her kit Grouchy, as well as the Grouchy Templates, and the Grouchy Quickpages on sale for $2 Tuesday at Stuff to Scrap.  Here is a closer look:

Here is a layout I did of my cats.  They were always found sleeping - especially in my bed!

Mommy Me Time Scrapper has Flip Flap Flutter and the Flip Flap Flutter Quickpages on sale for $2 this week.

I am gearing up to watch Canada in the Gymnastics Team Final.  It is the first time ever that we have qualified a team.  We won't be a match for a medal, but it is so exciting to see them achieve this.

Have you ever tried to do something, that you had never thought of before?  I find that since I switched to digital, I am doing things I never would have thought of.  (Even though for some people its second nature)  Well that happened when I was creating a layout tonight.  I was scrapping some cute photos of me wrapped in a towel after a bath.  So I was all set to put some paper scraps, which I am still getting comfortable with, behind the photos when I took a closer look at the pictures.  I loved the pictures partly because of the shape of the towel wrapped around me.  So I started cutting out shapes and started to piece together a towel of my own.  Now I have NEVER done this.  Not even as a paper scrapper.  At first I was just playing with cutting and moving things around, and from there the layout took me for the ride.  So I wanted to share my layout with you.
I used CU Banner Tool Kit from Chelle's Creations, and the rest was made with pieces of the Scrap Orchard Iron Scrapper Grab Bag.

Before I go for the night, I wanted to let you know that Leaving a Legacy Designs has her entire store on sale for 40% off.  This weekend is her Anniversary and she wanted to share that celebration with you.  There are also 2 new kits in her store.   First up is a new alpha called Denim and Dirt Alpha.  It coordinates with her I Make Dirt Kit, and the Denim and Dirt Add On.

The second are some Quick Pages made with the Here's the Scoop Build a Kits.  You have until the 31st of July to grab these build a kits before the new months come out.  and with the store on sale, what better time to grab them than now.

So were you one of the people glued to the tv to watch the Opening Ceremonies?  I actually seen most of it twice, although there was some scrapping going on.  I thought they did a great job.  I loved the storytelling throughout and the bits of comedy mixed in.  I was also impressed at the torch lighting when a large group of former Olympians passed the torch(es) to a younger generation who then proceed to light the torch as a group.  And that cauldron.  And the story of the petals, and what was written on them.  Beautiful.   Okay I better stop now!

Happy Saturday

We actually got rain!!  We had a huge thunderstorm last night, and has been raining off and on since. Well until now, as the sun is coming out and the humidex is going up!  I have a picture of the lightning last night.  It is not a great picture as I took it while laying in bed, through my window (so the screen pattern was there) but it was the first time I thought about taking a picture of it.  I was just happy that you could see part of it.  It was so bright, these photos were taken one after the other, but it looks like night and day.

Paula from Cutie Fruity is hosting a speed scrap today.  If you participate and get a layout posted in time you will get a $5 coupon for her store at Stuff to Scrap.

Just think.... tomorrow is Friday!

Tuesday Again

I have no idea where the past week has gone.  The weather here was a little cooler, so I spent a few days cooking and doing laundry in preparation for the heat wave. (now starting)

Leaving a Legacy Designs has a bunch of kits in the $2 Tuesday at Stuff to Scrap, so I want to give you lots of time to get over there and pick them up.

The first kit is called I Make Dirt.  I love those hand prints, and much better than all over the walls!

Thanks to the big response to Kimberly's newest kit, she has put her new kit Life's a Beach back on sale this week.  In addition to her new kit, she is also putting the Life's a Beach Quick Pages on sale too.

If you didn't check out the blog for Leaving a Legacy last week, then you don't have this great freebie that coordinates with this kit.  Click HERE or the preview to go to her blog.

I also have another freebie for you.  YAY for freebies!  Here is another border that I made.  Just click on the preview to download.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Beat the Heat with $2 Tuesday at STS

I am bracing for what they are predicting as the hottest day so far.  I have also made a note that if I ever move, having AC in the bedroom is a must.  No more of this wetting my skin in hopes that the fan will cool me off.  So what better day to have $2 Tuesday at Stuff to Scrap.  Curl up near a fan, or hey, an open freezer feels nice, and spend some time shopping for some amazing deals, instead of sweating away outside.

Leaving a Legacy Designs not only has a new kit out, but she also but that kit in the $2 bin this week.  Which is an amazing price.  The kit is called Life's a Beach, and is perfect for scrapping all of your summer photos.  Here is a look at the kit:

Here are a few layouts that I created using this kit.  I love the colours in this kit, and how versatile it is.  Not only did I scrap beach photos, but I also scraped some Grade 8 graduation photos as well.

I also created a Border for you.  Just click on the image to download.

Leaving a Legacy Designs also has her Here Comes Trouble Kit on sale for $2 as well as the Here Comes Trouble Quick Pages.

Have a great Tuesday,

Jenn

Featured Designer at Scraps N' Pieces

From July 1 until July 15 Karen Diamond Designs is the featured designer over at the Scraps N' Pieces forum.  It also means that her entire store is 50% off -- including bundles and all of her CU items.  In addition to that she is also giving everyone a few ways to earn some free coupons.  Please check it out HERE.  One of the ways to earn some money for her store is to create a layout using any of the kits she currently has in the store.  I chose to work with a Kit called Ann's Grace by Karen.

I have started to create a baby book for me, and I find that this kit is perfect for it.  I was drawn to this kit because of the pale colours in it, but now that I have used it, I love it a lot more.   I was pleasantly surprised at all of the textures in this kit.   But the easiest way to is to show you.  So here are two pages that I created using it.  (Still working on a title for them though.)

Since her store is on sale, I have been going through it looking at all of the kits.  There are a few that caught my eye, including:

Everlasting Love - I think this would be great for heritage pages.

Delicate Gracefulness - I love the pinks and purples in this kit!

And Winter Wonderland - You can't let July pass without thinking of Christmas in July!

There is still lots of time to earn up to $8.00 to her store.  In case you missed it.... here is the link again to the forum where you can find all of the information.   (Click HERE)   You can also check out her blog HERE.

Designer Challenge #3 over at Mousescrappers

Over at MouseScrappers every month or two the designers, and forum goers collaborate and put together a mega kit.  The kit is then sold at MouseScrappers.  All of the earnings go directly to Mousescrappers so they can continue to host their site.
Here is the entire kit as sold in the store.  Click HERE or on the preview to go to the store.

Romajo participated again.  Here is what she created for the Mega Kit:

The best part, is that the designers are also allowed to create a freebie kit that coordinates with the mega.  Sort of like a blog hop.   If you click on the picture you can go and download it from her blog.  (Or Click HERE)  She will also have a list of the other freebies that you can get to go with it.  Here is what her freebie kit looks like:

With Canada Day being a week ago, I also made this layout of some of the fireworks that I saw.  I used Basic Kit - Red and Royal Celebration by Romajo, (Her store is still onsale for 50% off!)  and Facebook Freebie - Fuss Free 10 by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs

We are suppose to get a couple of cooler nights in the next day or two, and sad to say I can't wait!  It will be nice to get the house cooled off again.  I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend.

July BAK's

I know that we gained an extra second on Saturday, but I don't remember a year ever flying by this fast.  I am wondering if that is what happens when you get older.  As a child I remember the end of school seeming so far away.  Even if it was only a week away.  These past 2 years though -- I am not sure where they went.  If anyone knows please fill me in!

Since summer is often about the sweet things in life, the July Build A Kits are light & sweet with over 30 great products. Be sure to use the coupon code JULY2012_BUY3_SAVEHALF to save 50% when you purchase 3 or more packs!

I had the opportunity to scrap with some of these kits already.  Here is a closer look.

First up were 3 kits by Leaving a Legacy Designs.  Here's the Scoop is all about the yummy frozen treats that we eat on those hot summer days.  All the way down to the sprinkles.

Here is what I created using these 3 kits (Don't you just love that alpha!)

Beaches N' Cream by Mommy Me Time Scrapper was the other kit that I used.  I love that this kit focuses on being at the beach as well as those yummy goodies.  (Anyone else getting hungry?)

I loved that little girl so much that I knew right away that I had to use her.  Here is a page that I made using her:

Here is also a reminder of the sales that are going on.

Romajo still has her store on for 50% off until she gets her EHD back.  Click HERE to go to her store.

Leaving a Legacy Designs has her store on sale for 27% off until July 8th.  This also includes the Build a Kits!  Click on the flyer to go to her store.
